superbowl, writing and hipsters

tonight has been a whirlwind of experiences and realizations. enjoy.

1. i am not a football fan.
i don't like sports to begin with. at least: not to watch. i mean, i can get behind watching something really fantastic like the Olympics, or Zooey swimming, or curling (cuz: what the heck is that?) or maybe even Olympic parkour (anyone?), but football?

(insert comment about it not even being foot ball here. add your own degree of wittyness. thanks! now consider yourself a ghost writer*)

but the boy is all about this "sport" so i am trying to develop an appreciation. it's not too unlike attempting to gain a palate for boiled tripe... being a good sport, i hooked up the antennae that a friend let me borrow and actually watched some pigskin get thrown around. and this superbowl, being the only superbowl i have ever watched, was like watching a train wreck. with replays.

i watched an hour or so of commercials periodically interrupted by white and blue guys running circles around orange guys. hard to believe this is a money maker. so, like a good sport, i sequester myself in the room and pick up on the story i am writing.

2. i am hoping this new story i am working on will stand beside what i have published so far as the single most ignored ebook on the web. third ebook in my Wonder Series. the only problem is that it is starting to grow to epic proportions. literally.

i wanted this to be a short story. but dog-gonnit if those characters aren't uncovering little gems that i can't help but pick up! the writing is difficult because i am trying to find the voice for it while learning what the story even is. this one is coming to me as i write it... a little less convenient since i have to go back and read what i have been writing to see what i need to write next. better would be like how i approach this blog: random words plugged into a software program coded for unrequited love

3. i just realized that avatars with hipster glasses are hot. i mean, i could scroll through a thousand twitter feeds (all retweets by that noob santos, by the way...) and not have even the slightest interest. BUT if the face staring back has thick rimmed glasses? oh boy, watch out!

*I do!
